The approved 2006 Work Program for the Centre Regional Planning Agency (CRPA) includes the preparation of detailed land use plans for important planning areas in the community.  While the Centre Region Comprehensive Plan provides a solid foundation to address regional planning challenges through its goals and policies, the successful implementation of these regional planning principles will require a more detailed study for strategic areas of the community.  To allow the Centre Region to continue the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Plan, the CRPA will begin work on a plan for eastern Halfmoon and western Patton townships.

The Halfmoon and Patton Township Area Plan will be an important planning effort as part of the 2006 Centre Regional Planning Agency (CRPA) Work Program.  The generalized study area that is in question will include portions of both eastern Halfmoon and western Patton Townships .  The specific boundaries of the study area will be determined after the steering committee has been formed.

The Area Plan for Halfmoon and Patton Townships will provide detailed recommendations on how to best plan for the future land uses in the area.  This will ensure the most efficient use of land, infrastructure, and resources throughout the study area.  To this end, the following steps will be taken to complete the land area plan.
