Prevention and Preparedness

Prevention and preparedness are two of the five phases of emergency management.  Both are critical in community awareness and address what actions and activities should be taken and when.  Hurricane Katrina and the city of New Orleans serve as stark reminders that successful emergency management begins at home and is key to the survivability of the local community.  Residents should make use of the information and "how-to" guidance now, and not when it's too late.
