A Message from the Emergency Management Coordinator:
Welcome to the Centre Region Office of Emergency Management web site. This web site is meant to be informative, user-friendly, and responsive to readers' needs. Constructive suggestions, comments, and questions are welcome.
The Office of Emergency Management serves as the coordinating agency for development and implementation of a region-wide emergency management program designed to protect life and property. The Office maintains a comprehensive view of emergencies that is risk-based, covering all hazards and encompassing all five phases of emergency management: prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. The date, September 11, 2001, is part of our national vocabulary. Hurricanes, Wildfires, Floods and Winter Storms highlight our vulnerability to the fury of Mother Nature. The recurring lesson we need to learn as a nation is that our collective failure to prepare ourselves, our families, and our loved ones for events of this type have dire ramifications. The Office of Emergency Management stands ready to assist individuals and businesses with developing an emergency plan.
