Veolia Rates Decrease
Effective January 1, 2010
Veolia curbside customers will see that their rates have increased for 2010 by $0.34/month for unlimited service.  The Centre Region COG, acting as an agent for the townships, awarded the new contract to Veolia E.S. after a competitive bidding process that ensures the monthly collection rate for refuse and recycling remains low and affordable.  New brochures with complete program information were distributed in late December.

Centre County Recycles Newsletter
The Centre County Solid Waste Authority's Winter Newsletter is currently available on-line.  A copy of this newsletter will not be inserted into the newspaper so if you would like a hard copy, please contact Amy Schirf.

New Recycling Drop Off Location
Centre County Solid Waste Authority has placed a new 6 compartment recycling bin, as well as a corrugated cardboard recycling bin, at the Patton Township Building located at 100 Patton Plaza.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection
The event took place on May 1st and 2nd of 2009.  The CCSWA collected 12.04 tons from over 700 households.

Paperboard Recycling
Beginning January 2, 2009 the Centre County Solid Waste Authority is adding paperboard to its recycling program.  Please recycling paperboard along with your mixed paper.  Click Recycling Guidelines for a complete list of recyclable materials.

Tipping Fees Increase
Effective January 2, 2009
Centre County Solid Waste Authority increased the municipal waste tipping fee to $70/ton.
